On Saturday 8 April we held a Social/Supper with a difference. About 50 or so adults, young people and children came together in the Village Hall for a disco-based evening of fun.
The entertainment was provided by Richard (a DJ based in Crewe) who played a wide variety of music that catered for all tastes, and he spent time 'working' the room to find out what people actually wanted. A particular favourite was Tony Christie's ‘Is This the Way to Amarillo?’. It was great fun seeing old and young alike, bathed in flashing lights from the mirror ball, all doing unique and energetic interpretations of the music. Supper was provided in the ticket price - the pies and mushy peas went down very well. Although tea, coffee and soft drinks were provided, there was the opportunity to take your own alcoholic drinks. Judging by some of the dancing, this helped give a certain 'fluidity' to the dancing!
The consensus was that this different type of evening together was something that we all want from time to time, and many were heard to ask when the next one was to be. Special thanks from us all go to Mark Pollit and the band of helpers who gave us an excellent evening's entertainment.
Even though it was a late night the previous evening, we all arose early to celebrate Palm Sunday. This time we went - not along the Way to Amarillo - but along the route for our annual procession from Chapel to Church. Meeting at Moulton Methodist Chapel on Main Road at 10.45am, we had an introductory song and Bible reading before congregating outside briefly before continuing to St Stephen’s. Upwards of 70 gathered (together with a selection from our collection of colourful banners)and the weather held off for the duration of the parade, although the black cloud was never very far away, as you can see in the picture below.

In Church the service continued with more songs, a reading, prayers and a lively address from our guest preacher Gordon Herd, before we again retreated to the village hall for refreshments.
