In the mid 1990s the physical condition of the church demanded a lot of work and money spent. The congregation was very small at that time (regularly in single figures), and the Bishop was not sure what future the church had. But new members joined the church, villagers returned to public worship, and a new beginning was ushered in.
The building was re-wired, a new heating system installed, the Spire refurbished, carpets laid, wheelchair access and a loop system added, and the ceiling re-plastered and painted.
The congregation grew in number, principally among the 50+ age group in the late 1990s, and in the last 3-4 years we have seen a good number of younger families join us. The children make up about a third of the congregation! Interestingly, the beautiful Millennium Window shown below was based on paintings produced by Year 5 pupils from Moulton School.
Christianity Explored runs a couple of times a year – a chance for folks who are “just looking” at the Christian faith to explore what the foundation teachings are.
Homegroups meet weekly around the parish, and about half our adult membership are involved.
Musically we are blessed with two excellent pianists, and one very competent organist! We enjoy the depth of traditional hymns alongside the best of new music from Spring Harvest and the like.
